I was born in Vancouver British Columbia, and grew up on Gabriola Island near the Vancouver Island city of Nanaimo, where I attended Jr. High and High School, traveling each day by ferry. I am one of four siblings. My ancestry is Scottish, where in 1800 my ggg grandfather James Ross settled in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, in a community called Margaree. Three other grandfathers were born in Cape Breton including my grandfather James Alexander Ross who moved to the West Coast of Canada where my father Donald was born. I guess you might say island living has been a big part of my family and my heritage.

My husband Dave & I went to Vancouver last August because he had a business trip. We stayed in Squamish for a couple of days and hiked up at Garibaldi. It was a very pretty area!
